Clifton McKelly Williams was born on July 21, 1923 in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Often referred to as "Kelly" by family and friends, Williams was raised by his father (Clifton Williams Senior) and mother (Irene Fry Williams), alongside his brother (Rudolph Caramel Williams, eldest by two years) and sister (Marjorie Bromley, youngest by four years). He remained in the Escatawpa region for the majority of his childhood, graduating from Moss Point High School before attending Graceland College and eventually joining the Army Air Corps.
Clifton Williams Senior
Clifton Williams Senior was born on February 28, 1899. Before living in Escatawpa with his wife, Irene Fry Williams, he served in the Navy during World War I. Before his death, Williams was a retired tug boat captain and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was 76 when he died of an extended illness on July 17, 1975 in the Singing River Hospital, and is currently buried in the Community of Christ Cemetery in Escatawpa.
Irene Fry Williams
Irene Fry Williams was born on September 9, 1902 in Escatawpa, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and a member of the R.D.L.S. community before her death on December 7,1991, at the age of 89. Her current resting place is the Community of Christ Cemetery in Escawpata.
Rudolph Caramel Williams
Rudolph Williams was born on August 19, 1921 and was an Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints/The Community of Christ Church. Like his brother Clifton Williams, Rudolph Williams served in the Navy during WWII and as an Aviation Mate First Class. He received the Presidential Unit Citation while in the Navy, and died on September 30, 2011. He is buried in the Community of Christ Cemetery in Escawpata.
Marjorie Bromley
Marjorie Bromley was born on June 28, 1927. She worked at the Independence School District for 20 years and was an avid member of the Restoration Branch Church. She passed away on June 10, 2006 at the Rosewood Health Center, her resting place is not with the remaining Williams family in Escawpata.
